✂️ What You’ll Need
- The free printable scarecrow face templates
- Regular printer paper or white cardstock
- Crayons, markers or colored pencils
- Child-safe scissors
- Glue
- A paper plate, paper bag or construction paper for the scarecrow’s head
- Decorating supplies such as yarn, raffia, fabric scraps, buttons or pom-poms
Regular printer paper works well for a quick cut-and-paste activity. Choose cardstock when you want the facial features to be sturdier and easier for little hands to arrange.
🎨 How to Use the Scarecrow Face Templates
It only takes a few minutes to get started.
- Print the five free scarecrow face templates found near the bottom of this post.
- Choose one complete face design or mix and match pieces from different pages.
- Color the cheeks, nose and other white areas if desired.
- Cut out the individual eyes, cheeks, nose and mouth.
- Arrange the pieces on a paper plate, paper bag or construction paper scarecrow head.
- Glue the facial features in place.
- Add yarn or raffia hair, a paper hat, fabric patches or other decorations.
Try using the finished face pieces for a paper plate scarecrow, paper bag puppet, fall bulletin board, classroom art project or simple cut-and-paste craft.
Because the facial features are separate, children can experiment with different positions and expressions before gluing everything in place.
