- Teach the Holy Trinity. St. Patrick used the three leaf clover, or shamrock, to teach the people of Ireland about the Holy Trinity, according to legend. Each leaf stands for one part of the trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These shamrocks can be printed, colored, and labeled for a fun Sunday school lesson this St. Patrick’s Day.
